Glasisolatoren maken gebruik van een glassinterstructuur met goede afdichtingsprestaties. Ze kunnen worden gebruikt met millimetergolfconnectoren zoals SMA en 2.92, maar kunnen ook rechtstreeks worden gebruikt tussen printplaten, sjablonen en sjablonen en componenten. Het maakt gebruik van glas (diëlektrische constante is ongeveer 4,0) als materiaal voor het isolatiemedium, en de binnen- en buitengeleiders zijn gemaakt van Kovar-legeringsmateriaal. Na sinteren bij hoge temperatuur wordt het oppervlak vernikkeld met goud. Glasisolatoren hebben de voordelen van klein formaat, licht gewicht, luchtdichtheid en hoge betrouwbaarheid. Ze worden meestal gebruikt bij gelegenheden waarbij afdichtingseisen gelden, of eisen ten aanzien van productvolume en -gewicht. Ze zijn geschikt voor intensieve installatie. De binnengeleider kan op verschillende manieren worden aangesloten, zoals plug-in, opbouwmontage, lassen en gouddraadverbindingen.
